Things I made with a sweater

So, I kind of felted an old wool sweater, one that I really liked once upon a time.  Then I made some trendy stuff out of it.  It's all for me...but my daughter likes it too...so maybe I'll share:)

Beaded Spider tutorial

Beaded Spider Tutorial from Jessica

Couldn't post this before...but here it is!  Thanks Jessica!

Wicked Good

So I will definitely be adorning my weekend attire with these fun little pins.  Made just in the nik of time!  My glue gun blew up in the process.  Inspired from a tutorial by Jessica on Craftily Ever After, I made these spiders, and Betty style...attached them to a fabric scrap pin!  "Trick" out some necklaces (courtesy of my shopping Premier Designs, and White House Black Market), or "Stir" it up on a cute scarf.  Anyway you put it, these pins will make a "frighteningly" fab statement!

Mantle Update

Okay, so I added a few things to the mantle.  Maybe a banner or two...just to spice it up.  Here is the finished product.  The burlap banner was so simple, it took me about a hour total, in between the other stuff I was doing around the house.  Anyone can do it!  Oh, and my 6 year old daughter informed me that I used the word "fright" on 2 signs.  Woops!  Those kids get ya every time.  Too bad she didn't discover it until the sign was done.  Maybe she should be my proofreader for now on.  Enjoy!

A Place to Lay your Head...or Not!

Here are a few throw pillow covers I threw together.  Used a tutorial from cottagemagpie.com...easy peasy! Enjoy!  Oh, making a cameo appearance is our cat Olive.

Halloween Subway Art

This project was inspired by Tatertots & Jello!  Loved the idea and it was a great way to show off my mantle for Halloween!

Punkies

Love these fabric pumpkins.  Can't say this was an original.  Have been seeing them everywhere so decided to make my own set.  I like em a bunch!

SPOOOOKY

And so the crafting continues.  Oh what a few wood blocks, scrapbook paper and modge podge can't do!  Made these spooky blocks for my friend...just a little jealous I think!  Might have to make my own set:)

Fall Fall Fall

I just love fall! It is by far my favorite season. Being outside on a cool, crisp, but sunny day brings so much satisfaction, and inspiration. With fall comes Halloween. Decorating for Halloween is a blast. Yesterday my two children and I embarked on that journey. It is a complete house transformation for me. Bella, who is almost 7, was a huge help! And it was so much fun to watch Bella and Grace really learn to enjoy this season. And although there was a huge mess at the end of the day, cleaning it up didn't bother me one bit. Will post some pics soon!
HAPPY FALL!!!!!

Feelin' Crafty

This time of year makes me start to feel super crafty! It gets my wheels turning and the feeling kicks in. The feeling that I need some new fall decor, not that I don't already have enough! But hey, you can always use more. So my first fall project is this...Nesting boxes! I got this idea just from surfing around the web. I think I saw some blocks that had this saying on it...pretty simple though. I decided to spice things up! Hope you like em'!

Headlines

Hey~
This is a jewelry line I have been working on.  My latest and greatest creation!  I absolutely love it, and hopefully YOU will too!  Each piece is made with beads and/or crystals and newspapers.  Yep, saved from the recycle bin.  I've turned them into "eco-art".  I love to wear them because they are fashionable and a conversation starter.  Soon, I will put them on Etsy to be purchased.  Enjoy!

A Place for my "peeps" to hang~

Birdbath

This was a great summer craft!  I got to do this outside while the kids played around me.  The perfect addition to my small flower garden, and a place for the birdies to get refreshed.  I used clay pots as the base, and a large clay pot drainage tray for the bath area.  A little liquid nails, some polyurethane to seal it, and paint.  It's beach themed, like my house and everything else...it reminds me of a place I love!

Another Pop Tab Bracelet

Different twist on the same bracelet...only a more grown up version!  I used chain this time.

Recycle something

So I've been saving pop tabs and got just enough to have my daughter design her own bracelet...headbands and possibly belts, soon to follow!  Maybe even a little bling added to this.  The possibilities are endless!

Fourth of July Fun

Just got back from Cape Cod, and what a wonderful vacation.  Anyway, couldn't wait to get back to crafting!  Here is my first project.  I bought this plastic and cloth star at some store on the Cape, really cheap!  Thought it would look cute on my front door for the Fourth of July.  So I added a little bling, and here it is!

Teacher Gift

Teacher Gift
It's that time of year.  Crafty mom's everywhere try to think of just the right thing to make and give to teachers for a job well done this year.  Here is the project I took on.  A clipboard for a kindergarten teacher.      A standard clipboard layered with scrapbook paper and several layers of modge podge and spray resin.  The back side is even cuter, so flip through the pics to see.

I once saw something I could make

Okay, I say that allllll of the time.  So I saw a shirt, and although it didn't come out exactly as the shirt I saw, it did come out super cute, and matched the vest.  Like kicking it up a notch, plain shirt to pretty shirt. This is the only picture I have, as I am not taking a pic of myself in this thing.

Room Redo #2

Time to get rid of the fairies and move on to what Bella would like to call a "teenager" room.  I would like to think it's somewhere between a baby and kid.  Super fun, also really happy with this one.

Room Redo #1

My baby girl Grace is getting so big. It is time for a big girl room. So I ordered furniture, and new bedding. Here it is. I think it came out beautiful. Everytime I walk in I go "awwwww".

Earth Day 2010

Flashy & Feminine
I'm still on this Earth Day kick!  Recycled sweatshirt from my hubby.  Think he wore this once.  There was just something cool about the fabric....now it's kind of Flashdance, kind of feminine!  My daughter models it for me, and obviously, it is way too big!

Recycled More Stuff

So I got a little creative after the whole hat thing and decided to expand on it.  A recycled magazine necklace.

Recycled Stuff

My daughter had a school project to make a recycled hat.  We used cereal, fruit snack, and mac and cheese boxes to make ours.  We also made a ribbon and flower from a plastic grocery bag and pop bottle cap.  I think it came out great!  Thanks to her teacher, Mrs. Cox at Shenango Elem for letting me attend class that day.  Kids and parents got really creative.  Here is our hat.

Spring Blocks...custom

This is a custom block order...love it!  I almost want to keep it for myself!

Easter's on it's way

My traditional Easter tree all decked out.  That is until the little baby decides to un-deck it.

Gotta Love Buttons

My daughter just loves buttons.  So we have been trying to find clever ways of doing stuff with them.  This is completely experimental.  These are magnets for my bulletin board.  We are going to make some for hers too.  Then I got these cute button like embellishments in the scrapbook isle of JoAnn's...they go perfect with my office.  These are thumb tacks.  Just thought I'd share.

Paper Crafting at its best!

Believe it or not, this was made with paint, wood and scrapbook paper.  I buy a ton of scrapbook paper with the hopes of someday scrapping...never gonna happen.  However, I get lots of use out of it by doing crafts like this.  Gotta love that Cricut!

Spring Blocks

Here are Spring blocks...these are leaners.  They look super cute on a mantel.

Easter Blocks

A little easter block sign I made.  Distressed around the edges.  These can be ordered from me...$4.00 per block.  Custom letters.  Custom colors.  Distressed or not...you pick.  These blocks lean, but thicker blocks would stand on their own and would be all squares.  The thinner leaning blocks could also be attached with wood glue or hinges to make them stand.  Extra $5.00 for attaching.

Carrots

Carrots

I saw these super cute little carrots in Pier 1 the other day.  They really weren't expensive, but I thought it would be awesome if I could make them myself.  I will have to say, I think they turned out pretty good. I have included the "How To" if you want to attempt it.

Just a few other projects

So, here is a Valentine's Day wreath.  I used the Cricut for this one.  I have had this wreath forever and all of this beautiful ribbon.  Sometimes inspiration just takes a while.

This is an Uppercase Living expression from Valentine's 2010.  Cute little card hanger.

Spring has Sprung

Okay, so I am finally going to do some crafting this week. I was in a total slump for the past couple of weeks, and I have been reading. Not a bad thing, but a kind of lazy thing. It has just been so cold and miserable, I have just felt like sitting around doing nothing.
So my first project of the spring is going to be a wreath. Super cute Easter wreath. I will post the pics. This is a fun project. Think Bella can help with this one.
